Saturday Music (Palmerston North) is affiliated with Music Education Manawatu (Inc) and is supported by the Primary School Out-Of-Hours Music Scheme of the Ministry of Education. It is administered by a supervisory committee that is directed by the Ministry of Education and the Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School Board of Trustees.

Aims

The aims of Saturday Music are to:

• provide an opportunity for children from four to around twelve years of age to explore and develop their creative musical potential.
• provide tuition in practical, basic music skills.
• provide opportunities for musical performance.
• maintain a supportive and affordable community music environment.
